The days after the brawl, we kept Nikita separate from Dockers and Cody to give him time to heal and feel safe.
The mood was somber. Cody was depressed and stayed close to the fence to see Nikita but he was not his happy self. Nikita was in pain and appreciated having some solitude while he nested. He lost a tooth – it had to be fully extracted.
We cannot figure out how the injury inside his mouth happened. It’s the way his mouth was injured that has us stumped. Any evidence of blood was cleaned up by one or all of the corgis by the time we got home to inspect the scene. Can’t imagine what the fight sounded like and then the cries from pain. Makes me cringe to think any of my boys in pain.
