I know, it's a nonsensical title.
By Photographing a Corgi Dog, I mean how I "try" to photograph my Corgi kids (or any of my past fur kids for that matter). I see beautiful images all the time of dogs grouped and posed nicely together and so obedient. I am challenged to get them all in the same shot looking my way at the same time. You know, that picture perfect moment.
There are certain key words used that I call out to them to capture that intensity in their eye, that alert look that even sometimes gets embellised with one paw slightly lifted. Dogs are cute and lovable, period. But something about a corgi-dog that's endearing when they are lying on their stomachs (which if it's a corgi-dog and they're in a comfortable mode, they will be on their backs sleeping! =) ) They just look so darn cute, but almost sad (even though they may not be sad) because their chins will rest on the floor. It's those trademark short legs that have made it an impossibility that they will ever be able to lay their heads on their own two front paws!
Really, there is no secret to photographing our canine kids…or is there? They get used to you with the camera in front of your face and give in to your every silly whim of poses and even worse…clothes modeling (you will never find my boyz strutting clothes unless we moved to Antarctica)!
Sometimes even the bloopers are the most treasured of images. OH NO! UGH! Just missed the perfect shot as a wet dog nose presses against your camera lens or a wet sloppy tongue cleanses your camera. Love it.
So here are some recent attempts at the group photo. Mostly failed attempts or maybe they were successful? Depends on how you look at it and, of course, who's behind the lens!
