They absolutely do. When they howl in unison with other canines, they mimic each other or the sound they are calling back to (sirens, other dogs, coyotes, etc.). I had the haunting experience of hearing Cody howl one day without Dockers or Nikita nearby. His lone, soulful song was absolutely beautiful – so beautiful that it brought a knot to my throat.
