Corgi Personal Space?

We were one of the more than 4 million households affected by the September 8th Blackout of 2011, history making incident last week. Initially, the thought was that we were part of an unannounced rolling blackout due to the high temperatures and uncomfortable humidity we were experiencing the days before. So while we were mildly inconvenienced, we had no way of knowing that our predicament could have beenmore serious than that. After our experiences in the 2003 and 2007 Southern California Wildfires, we should have been better prepared. All is good now.

A list of things needed for the furkids in the event of an evacuation

• Leashes
• Food and water bowls
• Food and water for at least three days
• Crates and blankets
• Medications
• Wipes and poop bags

What other essential things should be added to the list?

Do dogs have a “personal space?” Often, culture, gender and life experiences will dictate a person’s
personal space. How about your dog’s…your Corgi’s personal space?

Cody’s personal space needs are less than Dockers and Nikita’s. In fact, unless Cody is preparing for a deep sleep, he can often lie, sit and hang out much closer, if not right next to me, Hubbs or his Corgi elders. I personally love having my boys close to me. They are maybe too often subject to too much hugs, squeezing, lifting and kisses by a sometimes over affectionate Mom. Can a furkid mom be too affectionate? 🙂
