Watching the Chicks
Cody is sitting on a cement block that’s a couple of feet off the ground. This is a very unusual spot for him to be sitting. The top tier of the topiary tree in front of him includes a very large nest that’s housing many birds and a nest full of sweet chirping chicks. Whenever Mama or Papa birds fly in for a visit, the chicks are heard happily crying for their share of food. This behavior has Nikita and Cody quite curious. Cody is more interested than any of the Corgi-kids (Docker’s has stuck to scouting for lizards, something more attainable, and has since abandoned the hopes of taking a peek inside the nest).
In this image, I’ve caught him listening to the baby birds chirping happily while being fed. Cody wants to be part of the excitement.
If I didn’t share details about the scenario, this photograph could have you make up a story about his looking out at the yard and wonder what he’s thinking. There could be a different mood painted about this small dog, sitting alone under the shade.
This is my Cody Watching the Chicks.
